Exclusive Interview With Alexandra

How would you describe your design style?

My design style would be classic contemporary. I love to display old photos and use family heirloom china while also decorating with update contemporary furniture.

What was your favorite part of completing this project?

I loved the wallpaper design and the granite countertops together. Together they totally complimented both styles. The classic wallpaper with the contemporary black granite countertop. I also loved how everything I purchased at Home Outlet was so affordable. I was able to get the perfect look at prices way less than competing hardware stores.

Where do you find your design inspiration?

I like to go on houzz.com to get ideas for room designs. I also like to take inventory of my favorite pieces and design a room based off those items while including those pieces in the design. My living room, for example, was designed after the painting that hangs above the fireplace. It was my grandmothers and she loved peacocks. I decided to design the entire room, furniture and all, off of that painting.

What advice do you have for anyone wanting to start their first DIY project?

Do not get intimidated. If I can do it, you can do it! Just take your time, do your google research, and get the job done!

What do you think will be the upcoming trend for 2021?

I am seeing a lot of art deco and jewel tones which I just love! Brushed golds are in style and the tutor style home seems to be coming back.
